Yesterday I came home from work to find that my husband had purchased, and put together a bed frame for us! No more sleeping close to the ground. I love you husband.

Tame your inner Bridezilla

A few years ago I was on a flight home from Miami. My brother Sam and I had just gone on a carribean cruise with my grandparents (Papa Jim and Grandma Ida) celebrating Sammy's high school graduation. Anyways... by chance I was sitting next to a young couple who informed me that they too were flying home from a carribean cruise. We got to talking and they told me that next weekend they were getting married. I couldn't believe this when they told me. I thought for sure that there must have been a time conflict and they were forced to take their honeymoon before the wedding, but that wasn't it at all. They simply wanted some time to relax before their big day. Genius! Turns out they had planned on taking their honeymoon a few months after the wedding so that they could fully enjoy the time with their friends and family.

This has always stuck with me and when it was time to plan our wedding I of course wanted to do a pre wedding relaxation vacation, but of course realistically we couldn't afford to do anything like a Carribean cruise. So instead, Trev and I along with a handful of our friends headed up to Leavenworth a few days early so that we could get some relaxation in before the big day. Thursday before the wedding we did exactly that. A 4 hour float down the Icicle, which turns into the Wenatchee, river. We had so much fun that we decided to do it with even more of our friends and family the day after the wedding. Here are a few pics from our mini relaxation vacation.

To every bride and groom out there! This is the best advice I will ever give you.... during your wedding week take time to relax and HAVE FUN with the people who love you!

Birthday Spankings

The Masked Birthday Spanker is on the loose! He will spank at any cost, and will frighten your young children while breaking and entering. If it is your day of birth... beware.

On another note. Whatever happened to birthday spankings? I can remember my kindergarten teacher giving birthday spankings (one for every year we were alive) to each of his students on our birthday. I suppose that was 20 years ago and would probably never happen in todays classrooms. I always thought it was funny.

25 Things

25 things was such a huge phenomenon on facebook a few weeks back, but like everything trendy it faded fast. I still think it is a pretty cool concept; writing down and sharing with the world 25 random things about yourself. So here you go.

25 things about Stephanie Marie:

1) I gag when I brush my teeth... almost every time.

2) I wish I was more dangerous!

3) I laugh at things most people don't think are funny.

4) Just because I'm getting married doesn't mean I want to have kids. (this also doesn't mean I don't)

5) I seriously think I'm a decent rapper.

6) I am the most cathartic person you will ever meet. There is no such thing as fiction, it is all real to me.

7) I have a crush on Nigel Barker. I think I have a thing for bald dudes!

8) I appreciate functionality more than most.

9) I remember the little things, but always forget the big. Trev is opposite.

10) A hotdog with mustard is my all time favorite food!

11) I am all grown up and I still HATE tomatos.

12) I have freezing cold feet and hot hands.

13) I have a bigger love tank than most. I have a tendency to overlove... especially when it comes to animals.

15) I take a bath almost every single night because I enjoy it, not to clean my body.

16) I personally think I was a fish in another life, but when I was a toddler I told my Grandma that "when I was here before I was a man and I was a teacher." lol weird!

18) I have an irrational hatred/fear of belly buttons.

19) I hate ichy clothes... only wear coton blends.

20) I am one of two main characters in the most ridiculous love story. I don't even like to talk about it because no one can possibly understand just how crazy, awesome, and divine it really is.

21) I have a tatt on my buttcheek.

22) If I like something I will do, use, or eat it everyday until I absolutely hate it.

23) I have dual citizenship. The "other" is The Chickasaw Nation.

24) I clinch my teeth when I think something is cute.

25) I once burned my upper lip by smelling the rear wheel of a razor scooter after riding down a steep hill.

Over this past weekend we have accumulated about a foot and a half of snow here in Woodinville. This is what we have spent most of our time on for the past 2 days..... totally worth it!

Adobe MAX & ADIM

November 16-21st was my first Adobe MAX and ADIM conference. For those of you who don't know what that is... its basically a totally nerdy designer/developer conference. It was held in the fabulous city of San Francisco and was an excellent graduation present from Mom & David. I got more information than my brain could retain, made a ton of friends, and came home with a bag stuffed with free junk.

Mexico

November 1st- 8th my Dad's side of the family went on an amazing mexican cruise to celebrate my Papa Jim & Grandma Ida's 50th wedding anniversary! We stopped in Cabo, Mazatlan, & Puerto Vallarta. It was an amazing time, and an extremely special celebration for all of us.

Working Girl

For those of you who have been wondering where I have been hiding for the past few weeks... I have been busy working at my new job! To some of you this might be old news, but I realized today that I have yet to actually blog about it.

I had an interview with Plexipixel Inc. the Monday after graduation and the Wednesday after that was my first day on the job. For the last two weeks I have been doing interactive design work with a fantastic team of designers and developers. I love my job and am so lucky to be where I am at so soon after graduation.

Goodbye Fremont

Tomorrow is the "big day." Trev and I are moving in with our parents until the wedding next July. We are sad to leave, but excited to be back on the eastside for a while. Well kind of excited. We are trying to stay positive and not think about it too much.

I loved your mini bagels and cream cheese, your wide variety of unique individual bottled sodas, your selection of mini candies, your magazine section, your toy section, and that check girl named Carrie who Trev and I met at the Buckaroo. I will miss your scent, a mixture of the beautiful flowers that adorn your entry, and the friendly man selling "real change"(those of you who live in the city know what this is). Goodbye my friends at Market Time. We will be sure to visit. I'm pretty sure you are the only place that still sells Jolt cola, which is reason enough to make the trip!

Plexi Pixel

I had my first Job interview today at a company called Plexi Pixel. They approached me at my portfolio review last week. I met with a good portion of the team and felt right at home there. I don't know what the next step in the process is, but I hope they hire me. They seem like awesome people and they produce some pretty amazing work. I'll keep you updated!
