Montana with My People

Our short trip to Montana is sadly over. It was really great to see all of my extended family, and spend some time with my "people" as john would say. We started off the trip at about 6pm on Friday night. Trev and I made the 5 hour drive to Moscow, where it smells like poo, to stay with my brother in his jail cell... I mean dorm room. He is lucky though, most students at U of I have to share a room the size of his, so it is a small price to pay to have to go into someone elses room to use the bathroom. haha. We finally went to bed at around 1am only to hit the road again by 6:30am. Just in time to catch the sun rising over the palouse. It was beautiful.

It took us another 5 hours to get to Whitefish Montana where the party was. We only made two stops. Our first stop was at the Lincolin 10,000 silver dollar gift shop. Wahoo! Sam and I wanted to stop there because we had remembered that they sold things made out of deer poop from the last time we were there. Unfortunately they stopped selling that, but the stop at the silver dollar wasn't completely uneventful. Last march when Sam and I went to Hawaii with my Dad I ran into this girl that I knew from school. It was crazy, but not as crazy as running into her again in the middle of nowhere Montana at the Lincolin 10,000 silver dollar gift shop. Neither of us could believe it. Either it is a small world... or I should be worried about my safety. ha ha.

The next stop that we made was to take some pictures of rock formations that Sam had promised to take for Laura's geology class. We also took pictures of us.

We made it to Whitefish just in time for my great-grandma Bernice's 90th birthday party! After the party my family went to my mom's cousin Wendy's house to eat pizza and carve pumpkins. Wendy has a little boy a little older than John and a girl Katie's age too so it was really fun to watch them play together. John loved pretending to be a fireman.

When we got back to the hotel Uncle Dave, Auntie Carla, and my cousins were ready to play some games. John was having fun just running around eating sugar cookies, but when he walked into the room where everyone was and he didn't immediatly spot us, he said loudly, "Where's my people?" We were all like, "were right here!" It was so cute.

We finished up playing Munchkin around midnight (montana time) and we were hungry, so we went to the only place open after midnight in Whitefish... The Red Caboose.

The next morning Bubs enjoyed waking up to his cobber close by.

We hit the road at about 10am, we only made one stop on our way back to Moscow and it was at the St. Regis Huckleberry gift shop. With a free trout aquarium!

We dropped Sammy off back in Moscow and Trev and I headed home. We were glad to see the city at about 9:45pm. It was a long day in the car.

By the way... Sam didn't get any pics of the party or Great Grandma B :( so I'll have to get some pics from David.
