My Maid of Honor... the liar!

This is Erin's side of our engagement story taken from her blog.
"This last Saturday Steph and I decided to go to the Wedding Expo at the Convention center. It was fun to walk around and see all of the crazy things that can be part of planning a wedding. Stephanie was not yet engaged at this time, which I think was good because then we could attend the wedding expo with out the stress and pressure of her being engaged.
Earlier in the week I had received an email from Trevor telling me that he was excited for Steph and I to be going to the wedding expo because he was going to use that time to go and ask Steph's Mom and David for permission to marry her. He also asked me to please do something to make her stop analysing his every move so that he could try to make the proposal a surprise. So like any good friend would... I lied to her. :) As we were walking around the expo I told her that I had talked to Trev and that I had an idea of when the proposal was going to happen. But I also told her that it would be soon but not too soon and that she could relax the next few weeks.
When we got home from the Expo Trevor was still at their apartment. Unfortunately Stephs mom had gone to the Seahawks game so he wasn't able to go ask her while we were at the expo. Trev sent me a text (although we were all in the same room) asking for me to somehow take her away for a while so that he could get out of there to go talk to Cheryl and David. ... so I lied again. I said that I really wanted to go let Decko out to go potty and that I wanted to go to Ben Franklin. So Trev said that he was going to go help his brother with something and that he'd meet up with us later for dinner.
I thought that Stephanie had caught on to our lies for sure, but apparently she didn't. I got a call from her on Sunday afternoon and the first thing she said is "you are such a liar!" I'd never been so happy to be called a liar. She told me that he had just proposed and that she was caught completely off guard. I was so glad she was surprised.
I'm SO happy and excited for them. I feel so happy to have such an amazing and cool guy marrying my amazing and cool best friend!"
Thanks for lying to me Erin!

He put a ring on the finger he's wrapped around.

January 6th 2008 was the perfect day... to sleep in. I was awakened by an adventurous Trev who wanted to go up to the mountains and "see the snow." I however wanted 30 more minutes of sleep. 15 minutes later I finally gave in and woke up. We headed off to a park called snoqualamie point and when we arrived, I was very glad that I had decided to wake up.
It was pouring snow at snoqualamie point and just being out in it for a few minutes left our clothes wet and our fingers frozen cold. So it was no surprise to me when Trevor started running back to the car. I shouted after him, "warm up the car" as I followed his path slowly, focusing more on putting the lens cap on my camera than on walking. When I reached my side of the car, the scenic side, Trevor bursted open the car door blasting a song that at first I couldn't make out what it was saying. I soon realized exactly what it was saying, it was a rock song duh duh da duh, duh duh "Stephanie will you marry me.... say yes" and when I turned to Trev he was down on one knee. At first all I could do was stare at his face, his cheeks were cold and red, his eyes were squinty and watering, and he had a big smile on his face. I saw him mouth the words Will you marry me? and I was in shock!

I couldn't say anything I just stood there shocked. My first reaction was to get down and hug him. He responded with, well... what's your answer? I replied with, "oh yeah... yes!" "Well then let me put this ring on your finger." he said.

We were so happy and excited that we started running around the park. Trev thought it was appropriate to write a T+S in the snow. I agreed. We were going to go explore the trails at the park, but I was too excited and just wanted to get home and show everyone. We had so much fun the rest of the day sharing the news!

All I ever wanted.
Winter break is almost over :( The past three weeks have been packed with crazy adventures and a lot of fun times with friends and family. The following is only a glimps into how much fun I have had over this much needed vacation.
My vacation began with a Whitney family christmas at Travis and Alycia's place. As most of you know Brian and Marceil's place was devestated by a house fire so Christmas with the Whitney's was a little diferent this year, but most importantly we were all happy to be together, and as our new Motto states, "Home is where your Mom is."
Then I was off to So Cal to visit my Dad, Lyd, AJ, Papa Jim, and Grandma Ida. We did a lot of Christmas shopping, put up there well ornamented Christmas Tree that sat next to Lyd's Manorah, and Dad made some awesome fat Gingerbread dudes. On one of the nights we went to Saddleback Church for their televised Christmas program, where I saw Rick Warren Nonchalantly mention his book, The Purpose Driven Life. We had Christmas breakfast the morning that I had to leave. I left on a full belly of turkey bacon, turkey sausage, eggs, bagels, sprinkles cup cakes and champagne.
I arrived back in Seattle at 5:15 pm and the White Elephant Party that we hosted for our friends began at 8. We had about 20 people show up and expected it to last untill maybe midnight, but no one went home untill 3am! It was really fun to see everyone and we had an awesome time. Some of the best White Elephant gifts were...
A used athletic cup
Some cold pizza and a baby sock
A groom and groom cake topper
The day after our party we woke up and it was Christmas Eve! We went to my parents house for the Annual Family White Elephant party. I ended up with the Spice Girls greatest hits cd (yes!). After the party my family opened presents from each other. Katie and some of her friends were skeptical of Santa this year, but she still put out cookies, milk, and a card for him before she went to bed, just in case her suspisions were wrong. Katie and I had a sleepover in her room and when she woke up, she told me that she had heard Santa's Reindeer on the roof above her room, she wasn't lying, I heard them too!
Christmas Morning we went down stairs to see what Santa had brought. Katie got a brand new lime green bike, and Bubs got a Dale Earnhardt Monte Carlo Racecar powerwheels! He was so excited when he saw it he yelled, "My racecar!" He didn't realize it actually drove untill he accidentally stepped on the gas pedal and ran right into Katie's bike. His face was priceless. He immediately wanted to drive it more. Now he is an old pro at driving his racecar, and after every time he takes it out he parks it in the garage and wipes it down with a rag.
I put my new cowboy boot slippers on and we were off to my grandma's for an unavoidable Christmas breakfast. They tried not to do it this year, but we have been going over to her house for Christmas breakfast for so many years that all of my cousins, aunts, uncles, and a few other people just showed up anyways. After breakfast it was off to Mary and Willi's (David's Parents) for Christmas Dinner and more presents. By the end of the night we all had Christmas Hangovers.

On the 27th we headed down to Seaside for Marceil's birthday! We gave her a special gift this year since it was she and Brian's 35th year wedding anniversary and they had been through so much in the past few weeks with the fire. We took her original wedding ring that she didn't wear anymore and had given to Trev to use for someday buying me a ring, and put the diamond into a necklace. She was very surprised. The rest of the weekend we watched movies, ate, played games, went to the beach, and of course played fascination. One of the nights I won 8 times!

New years eve was another fun party at our place. We had more friends than we expected show up and had a great time. The only disappointment was the space needle. We had planned on watching the fireworks from the middle of our street, but there was some malfunction with the fireworks and the ones on the top didn't go off at midnight, since the top of the needle is all that we can see from our place we didn't see much. Trev, Neek, and Ben cranked up the volume on their concert sized amplifiers and played some live music. Trev was in heaven... or at least on the stairway to. bwahah sorry.

New years day Trev and I took a drive to Mt. Rainier. It was a beautiful and cold way to start off our year.
