6 weeks!

Today will be six weeks without even a sip of diet coke. It isn't even hard any more. I actually think I have forgotten what it tastes like. I wonder if I would even still like it if I were to take a drink. Maybe someday I will find out, but for now it is too soon. Yay me!

An Amazing Critique!!!!!

The following is a critique that I received from my Thesis instructor. I almost cried I was so happy.

So, Stephanie, I am sure that you must have been told that you are a fantastic writer. Ths is pretty amazing work. My main critique of it is not predicated on your phrasing, grammar or depth: It is purelya problem with degree of dirrect design examples. This desparately needs visual examples to displace some of this. If visual humor is as close to linguistic as you say then let's please see it. This whole paper is a bit weird for me in that we have barely spoken and here it is fully formed from the head of Zeus, but a good paper is a good paper. Please change the means of citation, insert your visual examples of at least four of your variant descriptions of humour and submit for editing. I am sure that folks would go through this extra quick. It is really well written.

Seaside w/ friends.

We went to seaside this past weekend with some of our friends. Chris Reen and Val came with us on what we expected to be a very cold and rainy weekend. We battled the wind and rain on our drive down, but when we woke up the next morning at the beach the weather was picture perfect. Everyone else was asleep, but Trevor and I knowing how rare the beautiful weather is down there in November decided to go to the beach and enjoy the sunshine! I strolled along the water in my t-shirt and my rain boots so that i could go into the water to look for sand dollars without getting my pants wet. Well that was the idea... there were hardly any sand dollars that hadn't been eaten by Seagulls so I had to wade further in. Then a wave came and needless to say filled up my boots. I was lucky it was warm enough to walk back in my bare feet. Trev carried my boots like a gentleman. When we got back everyone was awake and so we went for some Bagel By the Sea! My favorite breakfast in seaside. The rest of the weekend we shopped, rode bikes, had a fire, and of course played fascination. I won a lot as usual. I even won a perfect game and two black out rounds in a row. Yah I'm good. It was sad to leave on Sunday but Reen and Chris had to get back for their first Basketball meeting. (They are coaching Chris's little brothers basketball team which they have named "The Wolfpack" the boys are 9 and 10 so that should be fun to watch).

Montana with My People

Our short trip to Montana is sadly over. It was really great to see all of my extended family, and spend some time with my "people" as john would say. We started off the trip at about 6pm on Friday night. Trev and I made the 5 hour drive to Moscow, where it smells like poo, to stay with my brother in his jail cell... I mean dorm room. He is lucky though, most students at U of I have to share a room the size of his, so it is a small price to pay to have to go into someone elses room to use the bathroom. haha. We finally went to bed at around 1am only to hit the road again by 6:30am. Just in time to catch the sun rising over the palouse. It was beautiful.

It took us another 5 hours to get to Whitefish Montana where the party was. We only made two stops. Our first stop was at the Lincolin 10,000 silver dollar gift shop. Wahoo! Sam and I wanted to stop there because we had remembered that they sold things made out of deer poop from the last time we were there. Unfortunately they stopped selling that, but the stop at the silver dollar wasn't completely uneventful. Last march when Sam and I went to Hawaii with my Dad I ran into this girl that I knew from school. It was crazy, but not as crazy as running into her again in the middle of nowhere Montana at the Lincolin 10,000 silver dollar gift shop. Neither of us could believe it. Either it is a small world... or I should be worried about my safety. ha ha.

The next stop that we made was to take some pictures of rock formations that Sam had promised to take for Laura's geology class. We also took pictures of us.

We made it to Whitefish just in time for my great-grandma Bernice's 90th birthday party! After the party my family went to my mom's cousin Wendy's house to eat pizza and carve pumpkins. Wendy has a little boy a little older than John and a girl Katie's age too so it was really fun to watch them play together. John loved pretending to be a fireman.

When we got back to the hotel Uncle Dave, Auntie Carla, and my cousins were ready to play some games. John was having fun just running around eating sugar cookies, but when he walked into the room where everyone was and he didn't immediatly spot us, he said loudly, "Where's my people?" We were all like, "were right here!" It was so cute.

We finished up playing Munchkin around midnight (montana time) and we were hungry, so we went to the only place open after midnight in Whitefish... The Red Caboose.

The next morning Bubs enjoyed waking up to his cobber close by.

We hit the road at about 10am, we only made one stop on our way back to Moscow and it was at the St. Regis Huckleberry gift shop. With a free trout aquarium!

We dropped Sammy off back in Moscow and Trev and I headed home. We were glad to see the city at about 9:45pm. It was a long day in the car.

By the way... Sam didn't get any pics of the party or Great Grandma B :( so I'll have to get some pics from David.
